10 Aug I Don’t Have a PhD – Can I Still Play?
We see a lot of first time players anxiously sitting in the lobby telling their friends (and sometimes us) that they will never to be able to solve the puzzles and escape the room. We hear from people we meet around town that they are just not smart enough to come and play an escape game and they don’t want to embarrass themselves or let the team down. Ironically, you would be surprised about who does well and who doesn’t. We have had groups of teenagers crush a room with time to spare and groups of physicians and engineers scratching their heads. The escape game has little to do with book smarts. This isn’t Trivial Pursuit; you’re trapped in a puzzle room. The people we see winning are the ones who are creative and mentally flexible, meaning they can think about things different ways and from different angles. They are able to think outside the box and figure out how things go together.
We suppose everyone has a fear of failure and not being able to figure things out. The rooms are designed to be challenging, but not impossible. This isn’t the test to see if you will get into Mensa. Don’t let the timer freak you out either. You aren’t disarming a bomb and a gang of pirates isn’t really going to walk in on you trying to steal their treasure despite what the storyline says. If you freak out a little or spend five minutes trying to figure out how to open a decorative rock, we aren’t sending in the clips to America’s Funniest Videos. You are here to have fun and our staff will make sure you have a blast. Don’t let your fears and doubts stand in the way of having a great time. Jumping off the high dive seemed a little scary at first too, but you conquered it. We believe in you, so jump in and show us what you got. Book now at Escape Frenzy: WWW.ESCAPE-FRENZY.COM
